Progent is seeking Desktop Support Experts to assist Progent's clients with maintenance, break/fix and project work. This is a 1099 consulting position that will be performed at Progent's client locations in the . Daytime availability is required, Monday through Friday. Our consultant will maintain and support users of all desktop and notebook computers powered by current Microsoft technologies. In addition, work extensively with customer's executives, management, IT group or under the direction or guidance of our senior consultant to support the customer's end users.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain, diagnose and resolve issues with all releases of Microsoft Windows-powered PC and laptop computers and others as required.
  • Work with computer users in assisting to find and fix application and OS issues that impact user productivity
  • Install, integrate and verify a variety of software programs on user PCs
  • Operate on-site to find and resolve both emergency and chronic problems that reduce the stability, security, speed, connectivity, and overall functionality of desktops, notebooks, printers and other hardware
  • Install new end-user hardware and help with other deployments, upgrades, and exchanges of desktops, notebooks and associated hardware
  • Assure the timely analysis and repair of workstations and laptop computers and related equipment
  • Stay updated with an expert knowledge of desktop and laptop applications and utilization of WAN infrastructure including the Internet

Experience
Minimum Professional Background Requirements
  • Three years background in workstation administration new program configuration, computer and peripheral deployment, troubleshooting and mitigation)
  • Strong computer debugging and problem isolation skill, talent to install short-term patches to resolve computer issues and escalate support when required
  • In-depth experience providing software assistance to small companies for all Windows OS, Office Suite, and Office 365 programs such as Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • High-level speaking and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated dedication to facilitating continuous operations
  • Work without supervision and show marked characteristics of ownership and motivation
