Progent is seeking Desktop Support Consultants to assist our clients with maintenance, break/fix and project work. This is a 1099 consulting position that will be performed at Progent's client locations in the . Daytime availability is needed, Monday through Friday. Our consultant will maintain and support clients of all desktop and notebook computers powered by current Microsoft technologies. In addition, work extensively with client's executives, management, IT staff or under the direction or guidance of Progent's senior consultant to support the customer's end users.

Essential Activities

Responsibilities
  • Support, analyze and troubleshoot issues with all versions of Windows-based workstation and laptop computers and others as required.
  • Work with computer users in helping to find and fix application and OS issues that hinder user productivity
  • Deploy, configure and test a range of applications on user PCs
  • Work on-site to find and resolve both urgent and persistent problems that reduce the reliability, protection, performance, connectivity, and overall capability of desktops, notebooks, imaging devices and other hardware
  • Install new end-user hardware and help with other deployments, upgrades, and exchanges of workstations, notebooks and associated equipment
  • Provide the timely diagnosis and repair of PCs and laptop computers and related equipment
  • Remain updated with an expert knowledge of workstation and notebook computing applications and use of connectivity infrastructure including the Internet

Experience

Minimum Work Experience Requirements
  • Three years experience in desktop PC admin new software configuration, computer and peripheral deployment, troubleshooting and correction)
  • Strong computer troubleshooting and problem isolation ability, talent to implement short-term patches to solve network issues and escalate support when required
  • In-depth background providing software assistance to small companies for all Microsoft Windows OS, Office Suite, and Microsoft Office 365 programs such as Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Excel
  • Excellent speaking and written communication ability
  • Proven commitment to facilitating uninterrupted productivity
  • Work without supervision and display marked quality of responsibility and drive
