Progent is seeking Desktop Support Consultants to assist Progent's clients with maintenance, break/fix and project work. This is a 1099 consulting role that will be performed at Progent's customer locations in the . Daytime availability is needed, Monday through Friday. Our consultant will maintain and support clients of all desktop and notebook computers based on the latest Microsoft technologies. In addition, work closely with customer's executives, management, IT group or under the direction or guidance of our senior consultant to support the customer's end users.

Essential Activities

Responsibilities
  • Maintain, diagnose and troubleshoot issues with all versions of Microsoft Windows-based desktop and laptop computers and others as required.
  • Work directly with computer end users in assisting to identify and fix app and OS issues that hinder user productivity
  • Install, integrate and test a variety of software programs on user PCs
  • Operate on-site to diagnose and remediate both emergency and persistent problems that impact the stability, security, performance, accessibility, and general functionality of desktops, notebooks, imaging devices and other hardware
  • Deploy new end-user equipment and perform other installations, updates, and exchanges of workstations, laptop computers and related hardware
  • Assure the prompt analysis and repair of PCs and laptop computers and associated equipment
  • Stay updated with advanced knowledge of workstation and laptop computing applications and use of WAN technologies including the Internet

Minimum Work Experience Requirements
  • Three years background in workstation administration new program configuration, computer and peripheral integration, troubleshooting and resolution)
  • Strong computer troubleshooting and fault isolation skill, talent to implement temporary patches to resolve computer problems and escalate support when necessary
  • In-depth experience providing software assistance to small organizations for all Microsoft Windows operating systems, Office Suite, and Microsoft Office 365 apps including Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Excel
  • Excellent speaking and written communication ability
  • Demonstrated dedication to enabling continuous productivity
