Progent is looking for Desktop Support Consultants to assist Progent's clients with maintenance, break/fix and project work. This is a 1099 consulting position that will be performed at Progent's customer locations in the . Daytime availability is required, Monday through Friday. Our consultant will maintain and support clients of all desktop and notebook computers powered by current Microsoft technologies. In addition, work closely with customer's executives, management, IT group or under the direction or guidance of our senior consultant to support the customer's end users.

Primary Activities

Responsibilities
  • Support, analyze and troubleshoot issues with all versions of Microsoft Windows-based desktop and notebook computers and others as needed.
  • Work directly with computer end users in assisting to find and fix application and OS problems that impact productivity
  • Install, integrate and test a range of popular apps on user PCs
  • Work on-site to find and remediate both emergency and chronic issues that reduce the reliability, protection, performance, accessibility, and general capability of workstations, notebooks, printers and other end user equipment
  • Install new end-user equipment and help with other installations, updates, and exchanges of PCs, laptop computers and related hardware
  • Assure the prompt analysis and repair of PCs and laptop computers and associated hardware
  • Remain updated with an expert knowledge of workstation and laptop computing applications and use of connectivity technologies including the Internet

Experience/Education

Minimum Work Experience Requirements
  • Three years background in workstation admin new program configuration, computer and peripheral integration, trouble analysis and mitigation)
  • Strong computer debugging and fault isolation ability, talent to implement temporary patches to resolve network issues and escalate support services when necessary
  • Broad experience providing software assistance to small organizations for all Microsoft Windows OS, Microsoft Office Suite, and Microsoft Office 365 programs such as Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Excel
  • Excellent speaking and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated dedication to facilitating continuous operations
  • Operate independently and show distinct characteristics of responsibility and motivation
