Progent is looking for Desktop Support Experts to assist Progent's clients with maintenance, break/fix and project work. This is a 1099 consulting role that will be performed at our client sites in the . Daytime availability is needed, Monday through Friday. Our consultant will maintain and support users of all desktop and laptop computers based on the latest Microsoft technologies. In addition, work closely with client's executives, management, IT group or under the direction or guidance of Progent's senior consultant to support the client's end users.

Essential Activities
Main Responsibilities
  • Support, diagnose and resolve issues with all releases of Microsoft Windows-based PC and notebook systems and others as required.
  • Work directly with computer users in assisting to identify and fix application and OS issues that hinder productivity
  • Install, configure and test a variety of software programs on user PCs
  • Work on-site to find and fix both emergency and chronic problems that reduce the stability, protection, speed, connectivity, and general capability of desktops, laptops, imaging devices and other end user equipment
  • Install new end-user equipment and perform other deployments, updates, and swaps of workstations, notebooks and related hardware
  • Provide the timely diagnosis and repair of workstations and laptop computers and related hardware
  • Stay updated with advanced knowledge of workstation and laptop computing applications and use of connectivity technologies including the Internet

Experience
Minimum Work Experience Requirements
  • Three years background in workstation admin new program setup, computer and peripheral integration, troubleshooting and correction)
  • Strong computer troubleshooting and problem isolation skill, talent to implement short-term patches to solve computer problems and escalate support services when necessary
  • In-depth background providing software help to small companies for all Microsoft Windows operating systems, Office Suite, and Microsoft Office 365 apps including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • High-level speaking and written communication ability
  • Demonstrated dedication to enabling continuous operations
