Progent is looking for Desktop Support Experts to assist Progent's customers with maintenance, break/fix and project work. This is a 1099 consulting role that will be performed at our customer sites in the . Daytime availability is needed, Monday through Friday. Our consultant will maintain and support clients of all desktop and notebook computers based on current Microsoft technologies. Also, work extensively with client's executives, management, IT group or under the direction or guidance of our senior consultant to support the client's end users.

Primary Activities

Main Responsibilities
  • Maintain, analyze and troubleshoot issues with all releases of Microsoft Windows-based workstation and laptop computer systems and others as necessary.
  • Work with computer users in helping to identify and resolve app and OS problems that hinder productivity
  • Install, integrate and verify a variety of software programs on user PCs
  • Work on-premises to find and resolve both emergency and persistent problems that affect the stability, security, performance, connectivity, and general functionality of desktops, laptops, printers and other hardware
  • Install new end-user hardware and perform other deployments, upgrades, and swaps of desktops, laptop computers and associated hardware
  • Assure the timely analysis and repair of desktops and laptop computers and related hardware
  • Stay current with an expert knowledge of desktop and laptop computing applications and utilization of WAN infrastructure including the Internet

Experience/Education

Minimum Professional Background Requirements
  • Three years experience in desktop PC administration new program configuration, computer and peripheral deployment, troubleshooting and resolution)
  • Strong computer debugging and problem isolation ability, talent to implement temporary patches to solve computer issues and escalate support when necessary
  • In-depth background providing software help to small companies for all Windows OS, Microsoft Office Suite, and Microsoft Office 365 applications such as Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Excel
  • Excellent speaking and written communication ability
  • Proven dedication to facilitating uninterrupted productivity
  • Work without supervision and show distinct characteristics of responsibility and drive
