Progent is seeking Desktop Support Consultants to assist Progent's customers with maintenance, break/fix and project work. This is a 1099 consulting role that will be performed at Progent's client locations in the . Daytime availability is required, Monday through Friday. Our consultant will maintain and support clients of all desktop and notebook computers based on current Microsoft technologies. Also, work closely with customer's executives, management, IT staff or under the direction or guidance of our senior consultant to support the client's end users.

Primary Activities
Responsibilities
  • Support, analyze and resolve issues with all releases of Windows-based workstation and laptop systems and others as necessary.
  • Work directly with computer users in assisting to find and fix app and operating system problems that disrupt user productivity
  • Install, configure and test a variety of popular apps on user PCs
  • Operate on-premises to diagnose and fix both urgent and chronic issues that impact the reliability, protection, performance, accessibility, and general capability of workstations, notebooks, printers and other hardware
  • Install new end-user hardware and help with other deployments, updates, and swaps of PCs, notebooks and associated hardware
  • Assure the timely diagnosis and remediation of PCs and laptop computers and related hardware
  • Remain current with advanced knowledge of workstation and laptop applications and utilization of WAN technologies including the Internet

Experience/Education
Minimum Work Experience Requirements
  • Three years background in desktop PC admin new program setup, computer and peripheral integration, trouble analysis and correction)
  • Strong computer debugging and fault isolation skill, talent to install temporary patches to solve computer problems and escalate support services when necessary
  • In-depth experience providing software assistance to small organizations for all Windows operating systems, Office Suite, and Microsoft Office 365 apps including Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Excel
  • Excellent speaking and written communication ability
  • Demonstrated commitment to facilitating uninterrupted productivity
  • Operate without supervision and show marked characteristics of ownership and drive
