Essential Activities

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair Microsoft Windows Server 2016, 2012, 2008-powered networks
  • Work onsite and online to analyze and fix both urgent and lingering problems related to availability, protection, capacity, accessibility, and overall productivity
  • Install, configure and debug apps hosted on Microsoft Windows Servers
  • Deploy, setup Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7 desktop PCs and laptops
  • Configure and analyze a variety of network services and applications including AD, DNS, DHCP, IPAM, DFS & NTFRS
  • Plan IT topologies including virtualized environments and on-premises, cloud-based, and hybrid cloud designs
  • Support and administer MS Outlook client with back office Microsoft Exchange, MS Office and Office 365, telephony, and Internet access
  • Plan and carry out upgrades to MS desktop OS, Windows Server, AD, and Exchange
  • Design and validate security policies including on-premises high availability, resilience, backup/restore and anti-virus as well as offsite or cloud-based disaster recovery
  • Robust system architecture and proactive server monitoring and alerting

Education

Minimum Work Experience Requirements
  • 10+ years' background in PC, server administration and network Infrastructure support (new software installation, device provisioning, problem isolation and repair)
  • 5+ years consulting background
  • Ability to troubleshoot software application issues including workstation program compatibility issues, server problems, data service problems, and access problems
  • Experience in business application support (Microsoft product family)
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a virtual office environment, providing reliable follow-up and taking advantage online access and mobile communication technology
  • Works independently and demonstrates high level of ownership and drive
  • Possess a working understanding of networking layers 1 through 7 and strong debugging capabilities in L1-L4
Credentials Needed
Current Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) and/or Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP:EA)
