Progent is seeking Desktop Support Experts to assist Progent's customers with maintenance, break/fix and project work. This is a 1099 consulting role that will be performed at our customer sites in the . Daytime availability is required, Monday through Friday. Our consultant will maintain and support clients of all desktop and laptop computers based on current Microsoft technologies. Also, work extensively with client's executives, management, IT staff or under the direction or guidance of Progent's senior consultant to support the customer's end users.

Responsibilities
  • Support, analyze and troubleshoot issues with all releases of Windows-based PC and notebook computer systems and others as necessary.
  • Work with computer end users in assisting to identify and fix app and OS problems that impact productivity
  • Deploy, configure and verify a variety of popular apps on user workstations
  • Work on-site to find and fix both urgent and chronic issues that reduce the reliability, security, performance, connectivity, and general capability of workstations, notebooks, imaging devices and other hardware
  • Deploy new end-user hardware and help with other deployments, upgrades, and exchanges of PCs, notebooks and associated equipment
  • Provide the prompt diagnosis and repair of PCs and notebooks and associated equipment
  • Remain current with an expert knowledge of PC and notebook computing applications and utilization of connectivity infrastructure including the Internet

Experience/Education
Minimum Professional Experience Requirements
  • Three years experience in workstation administration new software setup, computer and peripheral deployment, troubleshooting and correction)
  • Strong computer troubleshooting and fault isolation ability, knowledge to install temporary patches to resolve computer issues and escalate support services when necessary
  • In-depth experience providing software help to small organizations for all Windows operating systems, Office Suite, and Microsoft Office 365 applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • High-level speaking and written communication skills
  • Proven dedication to facilitating continuous productivity
  • Work independently and display distinct characteristics of responsibility and motivation
