Progent is seeking Desktop Support Consultants to assist our clients with maintenance, break/fix and project work. This is a 1099 consulting role that will be performed at Progent's customer sites in the . Daytime availability is needed, Monday through Friday. Our consultant will maintain and support users of all desktop and notebook computers based on current Microsoft technologies. Also, work extensively with customer's executives, management, IT staff or under the direction or guidance of Progent's senior consultant to support the customer's end users.

Primary Activities

Responsibilities
  • Support, diagnose and troubleshoot issues with all releases of Windows-powered PC and notebook systems and others as needed.
  • Work directly with computer end users in helping to identify and fix app and operating system issues that hinder user productivity
  • Deploy, configure and test a variety of software programs on user PCs
  • Operate on-premises to diagnose and remediate both urgent and chronic problems that affect the stability, security, performance, accessibility, and general capability of workstations, laptops, imaging devices and other end user equipment
  • Install new end-user equipment and perform other deployments, upgrades, and exchanges of workstations, laptop computers and related hardware
  • Provide the timely analysis and remediation of workstations and notebooks and associated equipment
  • Remain up-to-date with an expert knowledge of desktop and laptop computing applications and use of WAN infrastructure including the Internet

Experience

Minimum Professional Experience Requirements
  • Three years experience in workstation admin new program configuration, computer and peripheral deployment, troubleshooting and mitigation)
  • Strong computer troubleshooting and fault isolation ability, talent to install temporary patches to resolve computer problems and escalate support services when necessary
  • Broad background providing software help to small companies for all Windows OS, Microsoft Office Suite, and Microsoft Office 365 apps such as Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • High-level speaking and written communication skills
  • Proven commitment to enabling uninterrupted operations
  • Work independently and show distinct quality of ownership and motivation
