Progent is looking for Desktop Support Experts to help Progent's clients with maintenance, break/fix and project work. This is a 1099 consulting position that will be performed at our client sites in the . Daytime availability is required, Monday through Friday. Our consultant will maintain and support users of all desktop and notebook computers based on current Microsoft technologies. In addition, work closely with client's executives, management, IT staff or under the direction or guidance of our senior consultant to support the customer's end users.

Primary Activities

Main Responsibilities
  • Maintain, analyze and resolve issues with all releases of Windows-powered workstation and notebook systems and others as needed.
  • Work directly with computer users in assisting to identify and resolve application and operating system issues that disrupt productivity
  • Deploy, integrate and verify a variety of applications on user workstations
  • Work on-site to find and resolve both emergency and persistent issues that reduce the stability, protection, speed, accessibility, and general capability of workstations, laptops, printers and other end user equipment
  • Install new end-user hardware and help with other deployments, upgrades, and exchanges of workstations, laptop computers and associated equipment
  • Assure the prompt analysis and remediation of PCs and notebooks and associated equipment
  • Stay updated with advanced knowledge of workstation and notebook computing applications and utilization of WAN infrastructure including the Internet

Experience/Education

Minimum Professional Background Requirements
  • Three years background in desktop PC administration new program configuration, computer and peripheral integration, troubleshooting and correction)
  • Strong computer troubleshooting and problem isolation skill, knowledge to install short-term patches to solve computer problems and escalate support when required
  • Broad background delivering software help to small organizations for all Microsoft Windows operating systems, Office Suite, and Microsoft Office 365 apps including Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Excel
  • High-level speaking and written communication skills
  • Proven commitment to enabling continuous operations
  • Operate without supervision and show marked quality of ownership and drive
