Progent is looking for Desktop Support Consultants to help our clients with maintenance, break/fix and project work. This is a 1099 consulting role that will be performed at Progent's client sites in the . Daytime availability is needed, Monday through Friday. Our consultant will maintain and support clients of all desktop and notebook computers based on current Microsoft technologies. Also, work extensively with customer's executives, management, IT staff or under the direction or guidance of our senior consultant to support the customer's end users.

Main Responsibilities
  • Maintain, analyze and troubleshoot problems with all versions of Windows-powered PC and notebook computers and others as needed.
  • Work with computer users in assisting to find and fix app and OS problems that hinder productivity
  • Install, configure and test a range of popular apps on user PCs
  • Operate on-site to diagnose and remediate both emergency and persistent problems that reduce the reliability, security, performance, accessibility, and overall capability of desktops, notebooks, printers and other hardware
  • Deploy new end-user hardware and perform other deployments, upgrades, and swaps of PCs, laptop computers and related equipment
  • Provide the timely diagnosis and repair of workstations and laptop computers and associated equipment
  • Stay updated with an expert knowledge of workstation and notebook applications and utilization of WAN infrastructure including the Internet

Experience
Minimum Professional Experience Requirements
  • Three years background in workstation admin new program setup, computer and peripheral deployment, troubleshooting and mitigation)
  • Strong computer debugging and fault isolation ability, talent to implement temporary patches to solve computer issues and escalate support services when required
  • Broad experience delivering software assistance to small companies for all Microsoft Windows OS, Microsoft Office Suite, and Microsoft Office 365 applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • High-level speaking and written communication skills
  • Proven commitment to facilitating uninterrupted operations
  • Operate without supervision and show marked quality of responsibility and drive
