Progent is looking for Desktop Support Consultants to assist our customers with maintenance, break/fix and project work. This is a 1099 consulting role that will be performed at our customer sites in the . Daytime availability is needed, Monday through Friday. Our consultant will maintain and support clients of all desktop and laptop computers powered by current Microsoft technologies. In addition, work extensively with client's executives, management, IT group or under the direction or guidance of Progent's senior consultant to support the client's end users.

Essential Activities
Responsibilities
  • Maintain, diagnose and resolve issues with all releases of Windows-based desktop and notebook computers and others as necessary.
  • Work directly with computer end users in helping to find and resolve application and operating system problems that disrupt user productivity
  • Deploy, configure and test a variety of applications on user PCs
  • Work on-premises to find and remediate both urgent and persistent issues that reduce the stability, protection, speed, connectivity, and general capability of workstations, laptops, printers and other hardware
  • Deploy new end-user hardware and perform other installations, upgrades, and swaps of PCs, notebooks and associated equipment
  • Provide the prompt diagnosis and remediation of workstations and laptop computers and associated hardware
  • Remain up-to-date with advanced knowledge of desktop and laptop applications and utilization of connectivity technologies including the Internet

Experience
Minimum Professional Background Requirements
  • Three years background in workstation administration new program setup, computer and peripheral deployment, troubleshooting and correction)
  • Strong computer debugging and fault isolation skill, talent to implement temporary patches to solve network issues and escalate support when necessary
  • Broad background delivering software assistance to small organizations for all Microsoft Windows operating systems, Office Suite, and Microsoft Office 365 applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • High-level speaking and written communication ability
  • Proven dedication to enabling continuous operations
  • Work without supervision and show distinct characteristics of ownership and motivation
