Primary Activities

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair Windows Server 2016, 2012, 2008-powered IT environments
  • Operate onsite and remotely to analyze and resolve urgent and ongoing problems related to availability, protection, performance, accessibility, and general functionality
  • Install, configure and troubleshoot applications hosted on Microsoft Windows Servers
  • Deploy, configure Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7
  • Configure and analyze a variety of network services and applications including AD, DNS, DHCP, IPAM, DFS & NTFRS
  • Design information technology topologies including virtualized environments and private/dedicated/hybrid cloud designs
  • Support and manage Microsoft Outlook client with back office Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft Office suite, telephony, and Internet access
  • Plan and carry out updates to MS desktop operating system, Windows Server, AD, and Microsoft Exchange
  • Develop and validate protection policies including on-premises high availability, resilience, backup/restore and anti-virus plus offsite or cloud-centric disaster recovery
  • Robust system architecture and 24x7 server monitoring and alerting

Qualifications/
Schooling

Minimum Work Experience Requirements
  • 10+ years' experience in desktop, server management and network Infrastructure support (new software deployment, machine provisioning, problem identification and resolution)
  • 5+ years consulting background
  • Ability to debug application problems including desktop PC software compatibility issues, server problems, data service problems, and access problems
  • Background in business software support (Microsoft product family)
  • Proven ability to operate efficiently in a virtual office environment, providing reliable follow-up and taking advantage online access and mobile connectivity tools
  • Works independently and shows strong sense of ownership and initiative
  • Possess a working understanding of networking layers 1 through 7 and strong debugging skills in layers 1 through 4
Credentials Needed
Current Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) and/or Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP:EA)
