Progent is looking for Desktop Support Consultants to help our customers with maintenance, break/fix and project work. This is a 1099 consulting role that will be performed at Progent's client sites in the . Daytime availability is required, Monday through Friday. Our consultant will maintain and support clients of all desktop and laptop computers based on the latest Microsoft technologies. In addition, work closely with customer's executives, management, IT staff or under the direction or guidance of Progent's senior consultant to support the customer's end users.

Responsibilities
  • Support, diagnose and troubleshoot problems with all versions of Microsoft Windows-powered PC and laptop systems and others as required.
  • Work with computer end users in assisting to find and resolve app and OS problems that hinder user productivity
  • Deploy, integrate and test a range of popular apps on user workstations
  • Work on-site to find and resolve both urgent and persistent issues that reduce the stability, protection, performance, accessibility, and overall capability of desktops, laptops, imaging devices and other hardware
  • Deploy new end-user hardware and perform other deployments, upgrades, and swaps of PCs, notebooks and related equipment
  • Provide the timely diagnosis and repair of PCs and laptop computers and related hardware
  • Remain updated with advanced knowledge of workstation and laptop applications and utilization of WAN infrastructure including the Internet

Experience/Education
Minimum Professional Experience Requirements
  • Three years experience in workstation administration new software configuration, computer and peripheral deployment, troubleshooting and resolution)
  • Strong computer debugging and problem isolation ability, talent to install temporary patches to resolve network problems and escalate support when required
  • In-depth experience delivering software assistance to small organizations for all Microsoft Windows operating systems, Office Suite, and Microsoft Office 365 apps such as Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Excel
  • Excellent speaking and written communication ability
  • Proven commitment to facilitating uninterrupted productivity
