BlackBerry Enterprise Server Express IntegrationResearch in Motion recently released BlackBerry BES Express, offering NO COST software and Client Access Licenses (CALs) while providing the core connectivity, security, and management capabilities of RIM BlackBerry BES Server such as over-the-air synchronization and mobile access to data and programs. And the price cuts don't stop at free server software and Client Access Licenses (CALs). Customers also get the option to select the BlackBerry Internet Service data carrier plan rather than the BES data plan, saving you $10-$20 a month for each of your BlackBerry users!

RIM BlackBerry Enterprise Server Express can be installed directly on an Exchange or Small Business Server, recommended for up to 75 users, or on a stand-alone BESX server which can support as many as 2,000 clients. BlackBerry Enterprise Server Express is ideal for small- and medium-sized businesses who until now couldn't financially justify connecting their workers' BlackBerry smartphones to the corporate network.

The Express version of RIM BlackBerry BES Server does not offer high availability features, system monitoring, database mirroring, or desk phone support and limits the supported IT polices from 450 to 35. In addition, BIS wireless data plan clients will have to perform an initial direct-attached enterprise activation to connect to the BlackBerry Enterprise Server. After that they will enjoy the complete BlackBerry mobile email and personal organizer data experience including scheduling, address books, do lists, and notes. Those using the BES wireless data carrier plan can still enterprise activate their devices over the air.
